ice-cream date

We've been working with Ava to get her sleeping through the night. During her potty training days a star chart seemed to work pretty well so we thought why not give it a whirl. Ever since she was about 12 months old she's had the habit of waking up anywhere from 1 to 5 times per night. We've been told it's "normal." Yes...totally normal. Honestly. If you could see her some nights, standing in the middle of the hall, completely disoriented and screaming at the top of her little lungs, it would seem anything but normal.

It seems like things are getting a little better. She's been only waking once or not at all for the last few weeks. Good girl!

Right, so back to the star chart. The rules were she had to sleep through the night without waking up or getting out of bed to earn a star the next morning. Once she received 5 stars she got to go on an ice-cream date with Daddy. She was so excited. It was too cute, she wanted to get her special dress on for her big date. Ironically, she didn't sleep all the way through that night. Hmmm, could have had something to do with the cotton candy ice-cream, M & M's and marshmallows on top on her ice-cream date? Daddy knows how to show a girl a good time!
