10 crazy nights

The goal was 10 nights in a row without having an accident.  When achieved we would have a special treat and new underoos.  Right about the time we started this quest a Top Pot doughnuts appeared at The Landing.  Um...yes.  It has been a looooong road but Noah finally did it.  Chocolate doughnut here we come.  Frosting yes....doughnut no.  Looking closely you'll see he ate the frosting off the top of the entire doughnut.  Yum.

Then off to Target for new superhero underoos.  Very excited to be Superman.

Sugar high.....and low.

bedtime tales

Tonight, while getting ready for bed, Noah was fussing because his mouth "reeewey" hurt.  He managed to work up a couple of tears.  I told him I was very sorry.  We need to be brave and get our jammies on, your mouth hurts but you will be okay.

Noah's response:  "weew, I am just going to pray about that." (said through tears and a very scrunched up face).

I can't argue with that.  Love this guy.  Thank you Lord for blessing me with these little moments where I get to see a glimpse of your grace.

sleeping beauties

Sometimes I just can't help myself. When I check on the kids each night they are in the wildest positions. I don't know how they are comfortable.

night watchman

Last night Noah was just too full of something to go to sleep. Ava was out in about 10 minutes but Brian and I could hear Noah getting up and walking around. When Brian went out at about 8:45 to put the garbage cans by the road I hear Noah at the top of the stairs. "Mom....I have to go pee pee." We've really been trying to get him to have a dry pull up through the night, and this is part of the gig. "Okay buddy, come on down and go then we'll get you back to bed."

After he's done, and been properly kissed and hugged, I send him back upstairs. He spies his watch on the steps and pauses. I tell him I'll bring it up later, now scoot.

About 9:10 we hear him up again and just let it go. Brian goes up after awhile and when he comes back down asks me if I closed Noah's door? No. When it's time for me to head up to bed I check on Ava (still sleeping) and Noah. It took about 5 seconds for me to see why he'd closed the door. On his sweet little wrist, hanging over the edge of the bed and fully exposed, was the watch. He'd gone back down the stairs to retrieve the watch and then closed his door to conceal the entire operation of getting the watch on his wrist. I can't tell you how many times now that he has surprised me like this. Kid keeps me on my toes and always entertains (even if this time he was naughty).

those darn pull-ups

Tonight Noah pulled out one of his funny moments without trying to be funny. I hear him knocking on the headboard. After I go in the room and ask him what's up, he tells me I forgot to check his pull-up. (he's only wearing them for night time - we're working on it). As I'm checking it he tells me..."yeah, the side part (of his pull-up) was ignoring me." He cracks me up!
