independence day

Annette made all the grands Independence Day quilts!  Each one was a little different and the kids really loved them.  My kids are suckers for sentiment.

Happy 4th of July!

1) I love this girl. She is becoming quite the baker! 2) This guy. Those pants. 3) Grampa and his grands!
These two are the cutest.
Why not.

Gramma and Grampa have ordered the Highlights magazines for a few years now, and the kids love them. The July issue had a DIY confetti popper. Guess what the kids made in their quiet time?

independence day

Happy 4th of July!

We had a really great day at the Coury's to celebrate our country's independence.  A very big thank you to all our service men, women, and their families who are keeping this country free.

Are these guys cute or what?  It could just be me, but I could look at these faces all day.  Oh wait....I do!
We are beyond blessed to have such amazing chefs in the family. These beauties were a Bill creation. Amazing. Beer can chicken. I mean look at them...they were just asking to have their picture taken!
Take a look at sweet little Vera. If this isn't a testament to the yummy food factor I don't know what is. Noah's face! "Mmmmm...SO good."
Let me begin by saying this was not Mommy approved. Brian kept encouraging Noah to throw the pop-it at his abs. Yeah. Brilliant. Nothing could go wrong with this plan. He actually did manage to pop one, which left a burn mark on Brian's shirt.
Me and my girl gettin silly.

The cousins were very patriotic this year. Ava was BEYOND excited that she and Vera had matching outfits. Beyond.
Finally, it gets dark enough to get the fireworks started. Ava still doesn't like the noise, and Noah is busy using his glow sticks as light-sabers. Ava made it all the way to just before the finale. She was out. That never happens. Ever.

Happy 4th of July everyone!

happy independence day

We are a blessed nation.  No matter where you stand on political issues, we can all agree that it is a wonderful and blessed thing to be free.  It has been said so many times before, yet still rings true, freedom is not free.  Thank you to all our men and women who serve in our military, and their families, so we can remain free.

(this girl is ready for some fireworks!)
