the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe

Seattle Children's Theater!  This year we only bought tickets for one play, but it's a great one.  The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.  It was amazing!  The kids were completely captivated the entire time.  The actors did such a wonderful job drawing us in that when the white witch pointed to her castle between the mountains in the distance...both Ava and Noah (along with many others) looked to the back of the room for the castle!  Amazing memory!

Space Needle, sunshine, and this little beauty.

museum of flight

I haven't been to the Museum of Flight in years!  A lot has changed, and it was really fun to see the kids experience the museum.  My dad used to take us here, wish he could have been with us today.  Such a group of characters!

women's ncaa tourney

Both the kids played basketball this year, and since the tickets were free (thank you WA homeschool association), we decided to field trip-it to the NCAA Women's Basketball tourney.  I had no idea who was playing, and the kids couldn't care less.  They would have cheered for any team.

As it turned out, however, the game we saw was Oregon vs. Washington State.  Ava couldn't pick a side but boy did she cheer her little heart out.  There was a group of kids about her age in the next section over...I could almost see the tinge of green on her skin.  She wanted to sit with them in the worst way.  At half time the announcer called for all kids to get down to center court.   Ava jumps up, starts climbing over me, and over her shoulder asks "Can I go?"
Me: "Uh...sure?  Don't you want to take Noah?"
Ava: "No, I'm ok."

Off she goes.  This girl, who I thought was my daughter, goes right down to center court and joins the dance party.  They formed a Conga line and everything.  She didn't even know what a Conga line was before today.  Crazy.  Not sure if I should be proud or scared.  As you can see...Noah was super into the games.

history museum

There are many reasons we homeschool our kids, and this is just one of them.  We make great friends and get to have the WA State History Museum all to ourselves.  They might have even learned something!
These guys....
