Lewis & Clark Tour

This year for school we will be studying American History.  What better way to kick off the school year than an adventure with the one and only NANA to see where Lewis and Clark found the Pacific Ocean?  This has to have been one of my favorite trips.  It was incredible.

We had to spend the day at the BEACH! I am pretty sure I have salt water in my veins. Beach or mountains? I would choose beach every time, even though I do LOVE the mountains.

It wouldn't really be any fun if there weren't a little adventure? My sweet mama did something she hates....drove down the beach to come and pick us up. We had walked really far and weren't sure about getting back. The problem? At the last moment she decided to swing wide to turn around....um....oops. She ended up in the soft sand. In a minivan. The tide coming in. Good thing we had a hero come to our rescue! She's smiling here BUT she sure wasn't before he arrived. hee hee hee
These two are my favorite. This is just beautiful to me. Noah, jumping off something. Ava running like a gazelle. Sums up their personalities.

Dead Man's Cove!
Fort Clatsop

Nature walk with Nana. I love this because I used to do the same thing with Gabbie.
My little Sacajawea! She made this outfit, with Nana's help, and one for her little Pomp too!

last lake day

We've been blessed to have friends who have access to a private lake.  This was probably the last lake day of the summer, for sure, and possibly ever since they are moving.  I couldn't believe how hot it was!  It's almost October!

august adventures...saltwater state park

I love these days.  Getting together with the lovely ladies in our family.  It was the perfect day to spend at "the beach" catching up with cousins, aunties, and friends.
This right here is my childhood. Not only did I grow up just down the beach a little ways...but this is exactly what my brother and I used to do for hours. I also love that Noah has a snack...IN the water.
and I didn't hate snuggling this little man...

happy #40 to me

I don't usually do my birthday.  My family was sweet enough to not let #40 go by without properly celebrating.  For me that means spending the day with my people and being somewhere near the saltwater.  They nailed it.

washington park and trails

It was the perfect PNW day for a hike.  We headed North toward Anacortes and ended up at Washington Park.  From there we walked along a beach, went for a hike, explored tide pools, and enjoyed the beautiful outdoors.  There were too many great pictures to share them all, but here are some of my favorites.

1) Uncle Isaac attacks with deadly kelp. 2) Teeter Totter log. 3) Cutest cousin twins. 4) This girl has styyyyyyyyyyle.
Crab hunting!
Lucy and her rocks.  Hmmm, I wonder how these would taste?
...and here's how she felt about having those rocks removed from her mouth.  I can't eat rocks?  Fine.  I'll just put them down uncle Seth's cast.

A hiking we will go...uh, Isaac?
These two look pretty good hanging out at the beach.
Time for some good food! Bob's Chowder Bar and these pirates.
