Each night we have a routine for Noah. Bath, jammies, brush teeth, "night night" to everyone, rocking chair for a few minutes, then bed. During the "rock rock" portion I often sing to him. His current favorites are Winnie the Pooh and Hush Little Baby. Tonight he decided to help me out.
Me: Hush little baby don't say a word, Mama's gonna buy...
Noah: Papa, papa.
Me: Oh, sorry. Hush little baby don't say a word, PAPA's gonna buy you a mockingbird.
Noah: (huge smile)
Me: ...and if that Mockingbird don't sing, Papa's gonna buy you a diamond
Noah: "wing"
Me: ...and if that diamond ring turns brass, Papa's gonna buy you a looking
Noah: "gaaaasss"
Me: ...and if that looking glass gets broke, Papa's gonna buy you a billy
Noah: "goT"
(and so on...he knows the last word in each line and says it in his sweet sleepy little voice.)
Love you buddy, sleep tight little man.
