We know that our little 3 1/2 year old has a very active imagination, but even so, this one took me by surprise.
Ava: Can I watch Maya and Miguel? (her new favorite tv program)
Me: No, not right now. You can read a book or play with your kitchen, maybe.
Ava: Oh, but I love Maya and Miguel.
Me: I know, they are fun.
Ava: Yeah, and maybe somtime I can just get in the tv and go visit them.
Me: (what???) Oh, well, we can't get in the tv to see Maya and Miguel.
Ava: Oh..(long pause)..well I can just get my hammer and break through the tv and THEN I can see them.
I think this goes without saying, but all the hammers (the kids have play ones) in the house have been temporarily removed.
I never thought about that, I guess. Oh boy ... you'd better get ready for bigger and better questions!!
