california - solvang (the beach!)

We started our vacation in Solvang, CA. It was beautiful! We were in wine country (totally lost on me) and just outside were lush rolling green hills. Ava's first impression?

This was Ava's (and Noah's) first trip to the beach. She LOVED it! We even found a friendly ladybug. She's hooked now, just like her mommy.

We had to get creative with Noah and "the boot." He loved feeling the wet sand between his fingers. Nana was a great, she found ways to keep him happy and entertained.

...and we got to see some dear friends. Ava made a special friend, Auntie Peggy, and who doesn't love Papa Howard???
