Google time! Wanted to try something new but not too far away. I've never been to Wallace Falls and it says kid friendly. Packed our lunches and we set out for the day.
It wasn't exactly what I'd call smaller children friendly. My troops did great, but it was challenging at times. There was quite a bit of uphill and tree roots/rocks on the path. Noah held my hand most of the way, which was nice. We made it to the lower falls which was 2 miles. We had lunch and the kids made some new friends. Noah didn't quite understand why he couldn't just pick him up?

The falls were beautiful. Totally worth the hike!

On the way back we had to stop a little more than we did on the way up. The kids found sticks and were "bringing in the milk and water for the cows." What? Exactly. I still don't know what that means.

Finally, at the very end and as promised, the kids got to play in the water. It wasn't as hot as we'd hoped, but they had fun just throwing rocks. The total hike was 2 miles in, and 2 out, but we were parked more than 1/4 of a mile down the road from the trail-head. The kids ended up doing about 4.5 miles total. Troopers!
