Monday: I went into work and Brian did the first day. I prepared the lesson over the weekend and left it to him to teach. He did great!
Tuesday: We went to church for GLE where the kids each have their own "class" to attend. That goes from 9:30 until Noon. I did a little math and grammar with Ava in the afternoon.
Wednesday: Another day in the office for me (curse GreatPlains!), but Brian to the rescue. He taught again then Tori came a little later. I had planned on her finishing but Brian got through everything.
Thursday: Finally! I get to teach. Oh, I guess Ava didn't get that memo and didn't care for my teaching style. Rough day. We got through it though... We had to get school done early because the kids had their annual dentist appointment in Seattle at Noon. On that note, they both got great checkups from Dr. Russell!
Friday: Success. We made it through the first week and overall things went very well. This has been a tough process that we are still praying about and asking for guidance. Brian and I want what's going to be best for each child. Right now we feel this is where Ava needs to be, and we are committed to re-evaluating each year. I am thankful and blessed to be able to keep her home for her early education. My prayer is for wisdom, patience, endurance, and above all that she learns to love the Lord.
Had to share this....
This picture is from her grammar lesson. She has been learning a poem, "The Caterpillar," and as part of her lesson she was instructed to draw and illustration to go with it.
Ava explained to me the first caterpillar is brown and furry, the next one is in a hurry "see his legs?" The red circles are the leaves, then birds and toads. Finally, the beautiful purple butterfly. Pretty good, I think!
