Date Box: The idea here was to give my sister (for her bridal shower) a fun box filled with date night cards. Then, you pick random nights on your calendar and color a dot on that date. That becomes "date night" and if you are stumped for ideas...reach into the box for inspiration! This one was fun to make, but deciding which paper to use proved to be more of a challenge.
Flower Pins: My cousins have been making these for quite some time but this was my first attempt. There are three different styles represented here. a) curled-edge flower, b) flower pin, and c) rolled fabric flower (the one pictured below was made by my sweet cousin Tori!).
"Foof" Balls: I thought these would add an elegant yet "simple" touch. Well, I think they did but I wouldn't call the task "simple." The white and brown ones are made from coffee filters, and for the navy blue I used baking cups (for cupcakes). One day, 20 extra long hot glue sticks, eight fingerprint-less fingertips, 200 coffee filters, three styrofoam balls...and voilĂ ! Foof!

Pallet Picture Board: This, honestly, was my favorite. I am going to reuse this for our family, but for my sister's shower I had {katie} across the top. Then I put pictures of Katie up using the clothes pins that were hot glued and painted gray. Hot glue guns and Modge Podge are my new best friends.
Onesies: This year my three cousins' babes turned one! I decided to attempt a crafty gift. It definitely helps that almost anything in those cute little sizes is going to be adorable. The one thing I learned was to put in the extra time it takes to stitch down the iron on applique. They will last longer and have a better chance of staying in place. Either way, these were a lot of fun to make. Oh, almost forgot. The last set of three was for my sweet niece Vera.
Shoulder Bag: My sister is SO crafty and an amazing seamstress. For her birthday I attempted to sew her a little something. This is actually a pillow case turned shoulder bag. Seemed simple enough but with my novice sewing skills at the helm....
Wall Prints: I've been wanting to put something above our couch for three years but couldn't find the right art. Tired of looking I decided to make my own! They turned out okay. The pictures themselves I love, and are thanks to my sister! The sailboat ones are in the hallway from the garage to the living room. It's just a long blank wall and I think this makes it a little better. The framed art in the middle I did a long time ago using an article from the newspaper that was written about my parents building their sailboat.
