Two stories to put down before I forget them.
Noah
Last night I took Noah for his 1st nightly trip to the potty. For the last few weeks I've been using "Buddy, Mr. Monkey has to go potty. Let's get up and you can show him how to do it." He'd been having some trouble going and I didn't blame him. It's rough to be in a deep sleep and be lead into the bathroom where you are met with bright lights and a cold floor. This technique seemed to have curbed some of those troubles, until last night. After getting him up, as he's heading for the bathroom, he mumbles "he's not real."
Me: What?
Noah: Monkey is not real. He can't go potty.
Me: Well, that's true. (trying not to laugh because he's saying this in a mumble and very softly)
Noah: he's a stuffed animal. (yeah mom, what were you thinking)
Ava
Today for "Exploration Day" Daddy took the kids to a pet store, something about investigating animals and how much they cost to own. A white hamster caught Ava's eye. They looked at all she would need and it added up to $90. She had to call me at work to talk about it...
Ava: Mom, I really like this hamster. It's so cute and white. I am going to do double jobs to save up for it.
Me: Wow, that will be a lot of work. What would you name him, "Hammy?"
Ava: Ha, no. It's a girl mom.
Me: Oh, excuse me.
Ava: Then I could keep him in my room. I would have to make some room.
Me: Well, maybe in the school room. Sometimes at night hamsters move around in the cage and might wake you up.
Ava: Well, yeah. But I could just put a cloth over the cage like in Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle with the parrot. Then she will think it's night time and be quiet. Or, maybe I can put it in my closet.
