Monday Lunch: Brian is helping Ava in her chair and getting her apron on...meanwhile Noah is helping himself into the highchair. My "little" man weighs more than his older sister, and the laws of physics didn't work in his favor. Next thing we know he is screaming, the chair is on top of him, and his leg isn't where its supposed to be. We tried to console him but he was pretty upset, and beyond the normal "bonk" cry. When we tried to get him to walk to daddy he wouldn't put his right foot down and cried harder. Brian was ready to take him in to the doctor. Off the boys went to see if there was a serious injury or just a bruise.
Monday Early Evening: The doctor sent the boys over to the imaging office for some x-rays. Noah was pretty worn out by the time they got home and slept until 5. Our doctor called and confirmed there was a fracture, and that we needed to see an orthopedic provider. She told us to just keep him off the leg until the next day when he could be put in a cast.
We tried to keep him off the foot for the rest of the night...

Tuesday Afternoon: We took Noah in for his appointment at Children's and they wanted to put a cast on him for 3-5 weeks. What we had to discuss with the doctor is our plan to be in California on the 21st. A cast, sand, pool, Noah...not a good situation. The doc was willing to remove the cast on the 17th and see how the leg looks. Noah will then be fitted for a boot, but still unable to stand on his right leg. If you know Noah at all this is going to be ROUGH. Poor little guy, no running or rough playing for quite a long time. While we knew this might happen at some point, just given his nature, we didn't expect it at 20 months old!
All in all he's taking things pretty well...

Who needs a wheelchair when you have a big sister?

OH My Gosh! Poor Noah! Ya can't help but laugh a little though to see a toddler in a leg cast! Poor Guy!
