little moments

These are just a few little moments from the last two weeks.

Work: Someone asked be where I was working now, to which I answered Sesame Communications. Noah overheard me on the phone, and thinks I am the coolest mom EVER because I work at Sesame Street.

Potty-Time: Noah has been "in training" since mid-August. Since that time he's been fully trained in one area (no messy diapers!), but the other has been a challenge. Sometime in October I decided to just go for it, no more pull ups, just bite the bullet and go with underwear. A day and a half, and 14 pair of underwear, later I determined he just wasn't ready. Quite frankly neither was I. Just recently he started telling me when he went pee pee in his pull up so I decided to try the underwear again. This was our first full week and it went pretty well. A few minor accidents, but overall he did great. Today, however, was a milestone...he went the entire day without one accident. We even left the house! I am so proud of him, and while I know there are days with accidents yet to come, he is ready and so am I. (and looks pretty cute in those underoos!) Then, the next day during our Tuesday school at the church Noah made it through 2 1/2 hours with a dry pull up!

Dinner: Noah informed me he really didn't mind his bean greems (green beans).

Breakfast: Noah, "hey mommy. I love God, and I love Jesus, and I love da Holy Spiwit and I ALWAYS obey them."

Dinner: (a different night).....Ava, "Mommy, how does a baby get out of your tummy without leaving a big hole?" I blame all the Arnold's for being pregnant and stirring up these questions. I think they should have to answer this one. When I didn't answer right away Ava asked me if I would think about it. I said I'd try to remember. ;)

Reading Time: Noah got a new book from the Target dollar bin (love that thing) on colors. Ava, of course, asked if he got a book because he was being good and she didn't get one because she was being bad. After a long explanation about how that wasn't the way it worked, and why, she tells me that Noah needs a book about Princesses. What? Yes, because he just doesn't know them all and that's how he will learn.

Singing Songs: We've been listening to Sound of Music (a LOT) around here lately. During the past weekend I was quite ill and out of desperation to lay down I turned on the movie for the kids. They really got into it, and later that night I hear Ava in the shower...."you are 16 going on 17.....I am 4 going on 5."
