The kids and I were in the baking mood today. We decided to make banana bread. After the first loaf was made I left the ingredients on the counter so we could make another one this afternoon.
I went upstairs to send one email....just ONE, for work. It was going to take about 5 minutes. When I left they were playing with trains. A couple minutes went by....Ava appeared by my side. "I love you mommy." If you're little heart is melting with this tender moment, pause it. I didn't really see the importance of her licking a little sugar off her fingers, she probably found a place I missed on the counter.
(1 minute later)
I hear the little vacuum. Nice, my sweet little girl who just came up to say I love you, is now vacu.....wait. Sugar licking....vacuum.......not good. I ran downstairs to find Ava vacuuming and Noah, both hands coated in sugar, perched right next to the open canister of sugar.
Silly me, there are some things I assumed didn't need to be said. Like, hey kids...don't open the canister of sugar, put your hands in it, and lick.
This is what happens when you deprive your children of Fun Dip packets. They make their own. At least Ava knew to clean up the evidence...er MESS.
