this is real life.

A few weeks ago the kids and I went to a friends house whose neighbor happened to have horses. As we passed them Noah said **gasp** "Mommy!! Look!!!! This is real life!" (he'd never seen a full size horse up close...in case that wasn't clear)

Tonight's blog is my real life. There were many other bumps along the way, but you will get the general idea of how our night went.

I went to work this morning. It was good but long. Nearing the end of a project everyone is ready to move on to something else, myself included. Got home, and this was the BEST part of my day, to see Tori and the kids. Very nice to come home knowing my kids have been in such good hands, and I get to see Tori once a week! It doesn't hurt that she now comes with that sweet little baby either. After enjoying some time with Gwenna and my sweet peas it was time for the Bond's to get on the road. Wait.....queue Noah in the front room: "Uh, I fink the floor and a yittle wallet is wet with pee pee." Greeeeeeat. Cleaned him up, and he waved goodbye to Tori and Gwenna (naked from the waist down).

Off we go to put things away upstairs. As I was leaving Ava's room I decided to open her window (it was 80 degrees today!!!!). Slide the window open and start to walking away.....something catches my eye. A...N...T...S. Everywhere. They were coming in the window and going everywhere. I can't even describe to you what was growing in the track. I think it's what they were feeding on. Are you disgusted? You should be, and I spent the next hour squashing ants and cleaning the track. First, I had to move Ava's night stand and lamp. Then, as the kids were keeping themselves entertained, Noah decided it would be fun to pull the long cord hanging down from the dresser. Unfortunately, this cord was connected to the lamp I just moved. Sound of shattering lightbulb. Lamp is down and the bulb is in pieces all over her doorway. Really? I have to admit that at this point I let out a word I've never used in front of the kids.....DANG-IT! (which Noah kindly repeated back to me a few minutes later.....nice one Mommy).

As time wore on both kids were getting restless and very hungry! I think I now have the ants under control, which included me climbing out the window and standing on the roof to clean the moss growing on the outside track. Ava was kind enough to remind me to be careful because that isn't safe. Yes, thank you, I got it. Oh yes, I almost forgot, the only way the track was going to get cleaned of this nastiness was to use a small brush. Ava volunteered her toothbrush only after I promised to buy her a new one. What she failed to tell me at the time was that she must have it tonight.

So, we are all tired, very hungry, and now need to go to Target for toothbrushes and something to seal the track where I think the ants were getting in. It is 8:15 PM. The rest of the night is a blur.
