cinderella & gingerbread houses

Today was a very big day. We started by going to church, and then came home to get ready for the play. Gramma and Grampa treated Ava to her first play, Cinderella. It was very good! When we asked Ava what her favorite part was she said "the stepsisters!" (although I think it was getting to wear her pretty dress) I have to admit they were my favorite too. We went to the 5th Ave theater for a matinee. It was such fun! This will be something she remembers for years to come. Thank you Gramma and Grampa for this special day!

(poor Noah asked me if he could go to a "boys play" but was appeased by taking his favorite movie Cars to Grampa's)

Then, later that same day....gingerbread houses at the Volk's! The kids had such a blast there last year, and we are incredibly blessed to have Cheri and Chris in our lives. They had our kiddos along with our friends Dasha, Nastia and Katya. Those kids had a GREAT time! Noah kept with his gummy worm tradition.

On the way home the kids were talking about "The Grinch" (which they hadn't seen before). Noah says, "I do not want to beat the French." What? It took us a couple of tries to realize what he meant to say was, "I do not want to meet the Grinch!" Now THAT'S funny (unless you are French).
