piano lesson

We spent the afternoon at the Coury's yesterday to celebrate Mike's (aka: Grampa, Dad, Michael P. Coury) birthday. Ava decided she wanted to give us a little piano concert. (note to self...get this girl some lessons!) She asked Brian what "those things" do (the pedals). Here's how the conversation went...

Ava: What do those things do?
Brian: uh..one of them dampens the sound, one makes the notes longer, and the other…staccato, or something.
Ava: Dad! Stop talking in Spanish!

The conversation then went on to explain that was Italian. She didn’t buy it, and then Brian asked her “Ava, what language do you speak?” Her response, “Issaquah.”

She makes my day! Love this girl. It’s like a puzzle trying to figure out where they come up with their logic. We think she said Issaquah because that’s where we lived when she learned to talk. She had us rolling.
